Founded in 2007, Indego Africa is a nonprofit social enterprise propelling the creation, growth, and sustainability of women-owned businesses in Africa. From the fine raffia weaving in their bags to the woodcarving in their homewares, the brand provides women and youth with the vocational skills, business know-how, and pipeline to global markets to become self-sufficient entrepreneurs. The Keza Braided Raffia Carryallis made from raffia fibers that have been braided together to create a durable, fun carryall for all of your essentials.
Locally sourced raffia from palm trees. Vegetable tanned leather straps. Body of bag is flexible and unlined. Due to the handmade quality, some size and color variation may occur.
Spot clean. Stray fibers are normal, trim any that appear over time. Woven pieces are sturdy and made to last. They are meant to be used, and because life happens, sometimes they get a little out of shape.You can reshape your basket or bag by spraying creased areas with water and pressing into your desired shape. The material should feel damp but not saturated. Add water slowly to get a feel for what your piece needs and avoid color bleeding. Let dry, avoiding direct sunlight, or placing on fabrics. Repeat as necessary.
